Video tutorial for Check Host 1.1
|
Review
This is official description
With the program Check Host you can easily monitor a server or the services of a server and be assured of your AT&T hosting services or any hosting provider.
Therefore define which host or ip address should be monitored. Additionally you can choose the check method: either with a ping or by establishing a socket connection (optionally TCP or UDP) on any port.
The following review written by one of the Software Informer contributors applies to version 1.0
Check Host is a program that will check if a server is available or not, keeping you constantly updated on any change of state.
The program will place a small icon in the system tray, which you can double-click to activate it, in either English or German. By using this program, you can build a list of sites and services to check if they are available. All you will need to do is to enter either the URL or the IP address of the servers you want to check and press the "Save" button. From that moment on, Check Host will include that entry in the list of servers to be periodically checked.
You can also determine the check method you want to use for each entry. The available methods are sending a ping, or establishing a TCP or UDP socket connection. You can also set a check interval and a timeout interval.
Check Host can notify you when a site is no longer available, or when it is available again, using a Desktop Notification or an e-mail. You can also set the program to start a specific application for each of the events. |
- It is free.
- It allows you to keep an eye on several servers in real time. This can be especially helpful if you have several sites online.
